　　《贞贞》根据丁玲的短篇小说《我在霞村的时候》改编。

贞贞是小说中的主人公。这部小说完成于二十世纪四十年代，丁玲以白描的手法和第一人称的视点让我们看到在北方一个普通的村子里一个叫贞贞的女孩的命运。她做了慰安妇，回村时已经得了性病，村里的人讥笑她，家里的父母也觉得羞惭，和贞贞过去要好的大宝尽管表示不嫌弃她，可贞贞在这样的环境中万念俱灰，她只是想着离开，幻想着到一个没有人知道她的地方。小说没有跌宕起伏的情节和细致入微的内心描写，却传递出一种悲天悯人的情怀。

　　从这样的一个角度来看待战争，看待战争中和战争后的人性，是导演拍这部电影的意义所在。
